2002|NEWS SAFARI RALLY KENYA |
|
HCWRT DRIVER QUOTES-SAFARI LEG 2 Manufacturer: Hyundai Press Release Type: Leg Two Wrap After CS8: Juha Kankkunen–car no.19: “There was nothing special about that stage. The rally is very hard. It is very tough and it always been tough. I have never seen an easy one and I don’t think I ever will CS8 is very fast and you can see what is happening to everyone so I am just taking it easy.”
After CS5: Juha Kankkunen–car no.19: “We are changing the gearbox and the front differential in service – just as a precaution. We could hear noises through that stage so it is better to change it now because it will break sooner or later and if we take penalties now it is better than being out of the rally. That stage was a little bit wet. We have taken the bull bar off the front which was causing a lot of dust yesterday and it was better this morning but that may be because of the dampness. The car ‘s handling is still good and the performance is still good.” Click here for a printable version of this news Item
